We have just returned from a wonderful two nights at Tallawarra. Janine and Andrey are so truly lovely and thoughtful. We spent most of our time enjoying the newly built massive sunroom with wrap around windows on 3 sides. Andrey kept the fire going for us as we played board games while watching the kangaroos jump past. Janine’s scones and home made jams are some of the best we’ve had. The homestead was impeccably clean and seemed newly painted with thoughtful and interesting styling. We truly recommend Tallawarra B&B for down time with stunning Aussie views.

We had a really wonderful stay at Tallawarra Homestead. Andrey & Janine were both very conscientious and gracious hosts who looked after us during our stay and made sure it was as comfortable as possible. The rooms and the properties were in immaculate condition, and the bed was so good we found it very difficult to get up in the mornings! Andrey + Janine serve you fresh breakfast every morning which consists of your standard cooked breakfast and/or continental breakfast which they let you customise to your preferences every morning. If you’re around for afternoon tea they also serve up some absolutely delicious homemade scones with cream and raspberry jam that we just couldn’t get enough of! Tonimbuk is a little known area but there were plenty of great sights to explore that we absolutely loved. Yarragon has a really nice retail precinct with a beautiful art gallery as well. At Noojee, you can take some great photos at the Old Trestle Bridge and then have a nice romantic walk through the forests there. There are also some great wining & dining options in the surrounding towns such as Cannibal Creek Vineyard in Tynong, Garfield Hotel in Garfield and Middels in Drouin. All in all it was a wonderful stay, very relaxing and serene and exactly what we needed to escape our stressful work lives for a few days!

Positive: If I could rate this accommodation and service a 100 I would. This placed warmed our hearts, even more so for the service and kind, gentle 5 star service of the host/hostess. Not even the pouring rain put a damper on our experience. This is a place to retreat and really centre yourself and enjoy the surroundings. And it's fantastic for a romantic getaway! I would stay there again in a heartbeat, over a stay in a luxurious hotel in the city or a massage retreat in daylesford. The hosts are what make this place special. Very attentive to our needs and their homemade wholesome food was delicious and they definitely know the area and will accommodate every request. Can't thank this place enough. Left this place feeling well taken care of and all warm and fuzzy inside. Negative: Not a thing I could fault!.

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay at Tallawarra as a last resort, after our trip to the Gold Coast got cancelled at the last minute due to COVID lockdowns in QLD. As it was in the middle of school holidays, everything was booked and we just wanted somewhere quiet, where we could chill out together and have a well earned rest. We read some reviews online before booking, and thought we would give Tallawarra go. Well, we weren't disappointed! Janine and Andrey were absolutely wonderful hosts and couldn't have done anything to make our stay more enjoyable. We were greeted on arrival, checked in, shown our room, given a tour and had our brekkie order taken. We were even treated to afternoon tea!! Freshly baked scones with homemade jam, I was in heaven! The breakfast is also amazing, you likely won't need lunch! The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, had an en-suite bathroom and plenty of room should we have wanted to rest in the room on our own. The guest spaces are all wonderfully spaced out at Janine and Andrey have really tried to make sure you don't feel on top of the other guests. There were books to read, game to play and beautiful soft jazz playing gently throughout the house. We spent most of our days out walking, visiting local wineries, and I spent a lot of my time knitting and crocheting by the wood burner in the beautiful back sunroom. Andrey was always on hand to offer guidance about local places to visit, helping us to make dinner reservations, and just generally being a legend. Janine's baking is amazing, eat all the cake you can, and don't say no to afternoon tea! The pair managed to successfully balance being amazing, welcoming hosts and having a chat with you and making you feel incredibly welcome, whilst also leaving you alone to enjoy your stay. Not easy to achieve, it was most impressive! We had the best time, and would happily recommend Tallawarra and will definitely return. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

My wife and I spent a very relaxing weekend at Tallawarra Homestead hosted by Jennine and Andrey. Our hosts were extremely hospitable, providing very clean and new accommodation with several spaces to relax and enjoy scones with home made jam, sit around a fire with a glass of wine or a hearty breakfast to start the day. The homestead is a short drive from Melbourne, but isolated such that the tranquillity of open space and forest surrounds you and immediately provides a sense of peace and quiet. Highly recommended and we'll be back to recharge. Sebastian

There are precious moments in our hectic lives, when we have the opportunity to breathe deeply and sink into the warm embrace of tranquility, punctuated only by the gentle crackling of logs in an emblazoned fireplace. The serenity of Tallawarra come from the heart of its gracious and professional hosts, Janine and Andrey - who successfully achieve the delicate balance between attentive and professional friendliness, and unobtrusive service. It is a delight to be in an impeccable home, that invites exploration of the parts of us we rarely explore - poking through the eclectic library that caters to interests from Tom Clancy through to Gin Cocktails and Japanese gardens. Savouring a peaty whisky against a backdrop of Nina Simone’s ‘My Baby just cares for me’, and sinking into a comfortable chair, provided me with the perfect vehicle for relaxation. A marvellous place to come and feel ‘at home’....and breathe...
