Reproduction period lighting and antique furniture feature in the Reading Room, and create a cosy relaxing ambience. The large glass panel doors at one end showcase an extensive selection of reading materials, whilst at the other end of the room is the well-stocked bar.

You can sit down and immerse yourself in  a great novel* or catch up with the latest trends from a large selection of magazines, or just keep up to date with the daily papers, the Reading Room at Tallawarra Homestead  is a perfect place to unwind and catch up on  that lost art of relaxed reading. For those who still like to be a little competitive whilst having a relaxing break, there is a large selection of board games to choose from.

*We know that it’s difficult to pick up a novel and then feel the frustration of not being able to finish reading. At Tallawarra Homestead, we encourage you to immerse yourself in a novel, take it home and when finished, return the novel in our self-addressed envelopes you will find in the reading room. This is a complimentary service to ensure your stay to be enjoyable, and without hassles.
