March 2019 was a very special day for Tallawarra Homestead!
– Quality Tourism Victoria (QTV) awarded Tallawarra Homestead a 5 Star rating for
the category of Hosted Accommodation. This certification is acknowledged globally
and is based on more than 200 criteria that have been ranked by Australian
key assessment areas- Facilities and service, Cleanliness, and Quality and
Condition that are applied to all aspects of the property.
Janine and Andrey are very proud of this recognition, and are delighted to share their excitement with all our previous guests, future guests’ and friends who have shared our journey.
Due to the
recent fires that engulfed the Bunyip State Park and surrounds, Tallawarra
Homestead will be closed until the 1st April 2019.

2017 saw Tallawarra Homestead awarded 9.9 from guests booking through Booking.com, and to the delight of Janine and Andrey, Tallawarra Homestead has been awarded another 9.9 for 2018.

Hosted at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, the industry-based awards are presented to tourism businesses that excel in their field. Tallawarra Homestead was awarded the Bronze Award in 2017.
The judges, all experienced in the Tourism sector, base their results on areas such as Tourism Excellence, Business Planning, Marketing, Customer Service and Sustainability.
Tallawarra Homestead will be entering the Tourism Awards again in 2019, going one better, that’s the plan! And who knows, representing Victoria in the National Awards, now there’s a goal!
Tallawarra Homestead is proud to sponsor the Rene Wakelam Poetry Reading Competition at this years Bunyip Show, held at the Bunyip Recreation Reserve on Sunday 14th March 2019.
Contestants are invited to read or recite a piece of poetry.
There are three categories, Open, under 16 years and Junior Class is under 15 years and under, with cash prizes available in all categories.
The competition is in honour of Rene Wakelam who was a long-time member of the show committee, and her often humorous recitations of her own were and others poetry were fondly remembered.
This is the second year that Tallawarra Homestead has sponsored this wonderful incentive, which gives the opportunity for those entering to increase their self-confidence, and experience in public speaking.
